Clearing Cache in Windows

Clearing the browser cache will often solve screen corruption problems. This is easy but may be slightly different depending on the browser used.

Clearing The Browser Cache in Google Chrome

Use the following steps to clear the cache in Chrome. We recommend that you keep Chrome updated to the latest version. This is good security practice.

  1. Start Chrome.
  2. Click on the Tools menu button (three vertical dots – usually top right corner). Choose settings from the list.
  3. This will open a tab with the settings for Chrome in, once here navigate down to the Privacy and Security section (There is an option to expand Advanced settings at the bottom of the page if Privacy and Security isn’t visible you will need to click this)
  4. Once you have found this section click Clear Browsing Data, this will then pop up the option box.
  5. You will need to select when you want to delete from and this needs to be “the beginning of time”.
  6. Click Clear Browsing Data.
  7. Now type in the address of HQ in your title bar.

Alternatively you can also press Ctrl-Shift-Del when you have Chrome open to quickly open the cache delete options.

Clearing The Browser Cache in Firefox

Use the following steps to clear the cache in Firefox. If you have an old version of Firefox then we recommend that you update to the latest version. This is good security practice.

  1. Start Firefox.
  2. Click on the Tools menu, then Clear Recent History.
  3. Click on the Clear Private Data menu option. This action will launch the Clear Recent History window.
  4. Set the Time range to clear to ‘everything’.
  5. Clear all the tick boxes apart from Cache, which must be ticked.
  6. Click the Clear Now button.
  7. Now type in the address of HQ in your title bar.

Alternatively you can also press Ctrl-Shift-Del when you have Firefox open to quickly open the cache delete options.

Clearing The Browser Cache in Microsoft Edge

Use the following steps to clear the cache in Edge. We recommend that you keep Edge updated to the latest version. This is good security practice.

  1. Start Edge.
  2. Click the menu button (three horizontal dots).
  3. Go to settings at the bottom of the menu, this will open up another menu in the side of the browser.
  4. One option is Clear Browsing Data, with a button Choose what to clear.
  5. Click Choose what to clear, then make sure that Cached data and files is ticked.
  6. Click Clear.
  7. Once you have done this you can click anywhere on the browser away from the menu to close it.
  8. Now Type in the address of HQ in your title bar.

Alternatively you can also press Ctrl-Shift-Del when you have Edge open to quickly open the cache delete options.

Clearing Cache on Mac

Clearing The Browser Cache in Safari

Use the following steps to clear the cache in Safari. We recommend that you keep Safari updated to the latest version. This is good security practice.

  1. Start Safari.
  2. Click on History in the menu on the top bar of the screen.
  3. Chose Clear History, this is usually located at the bottom of the list.
  4. Once you have clicked this it will pop up some options in the drop down list select all history.
  5. Click Clear History.
  6. Now type in the address of HQ in your title bar.

Clearing The Browser Cache in Google Chrome Mac

Use the following steps to clear the cache in Chrome. We recommend that you keep Chrome updated to the latest version. This is good security practice.

  1. Start Chrome.

Clearing Cache on Mobile

Clearing The Browser Cache For iPhone & iPad

Use the following steps to clear the cache for Safari on your iPhone or iPad, We recommend keeping your devices updated to the latest version. This is good security practice.

  1. Go to the home screen and click on settings.
  2. Scroll down to Safari
  3. Scroll down to the bottom of the list where you should find Clear History and Website Data.
  4. Click that option, it will pop up a message with another button Clear Histroy and Data.
  5. Once you have clicked that then you can go back to Safari and type your HQ address in the title bar.
  6. If you’re still having issues one thing you can do with iOS devices is in the Safari settings section below the Clear History and Website Data button is another option called Advanced.
  7. Click Advanced and this will take you to another list of options the first one is usually Website Data.
  8. Click that and this will give you a list of all the Website data saved during browsing on your iPhone or iPad, scroll down to the bottom and click Remove All Website Data.
  9. This will then clear anything that has been missed.
  10. You can then go to Safari again and try HQ again.
