HQ is essentially a single web page that contains a number of tools for common business activities. The most frequently used tools are:
Email – HQ can send and receive email from multiple email accounts (work, home and so on)
SMS – HQ can send (and is some case receive) text messages.
Contacts – HQ stores all your contacts as either People or Business. In addition, People can be associated with Businesses to provide a way of grouping them together.
Documents – HQ can create and store all your documents in folders, which are either shared amongst your colleagues or kept private to you.
Search – Everything in HQ can be searched. Emails, documents, Contacts and so on can all be searched from a simple search box found on the menu bar.
The HQ interface provides rapid access to all its tools and services through a simple button bar and drop-down menus. Here’s a typical example of the button bar (the exact look will depend on user’s preferences).
The interface works the same way as most software; simply click a button to open a relevant new window or click a menu item to drop the menu panel. As a simple example, just click the ‘Send an Email’ button. This will open the Email Composer window.
For more experienced users, many items such as emails, calendar items and ToDos can be dragged to the bin to be deleted.
A whole HQ page looks something like the following:
This is an example of a whole HQ page where the menu bar illustrated above is at the top of the page.
Underneath the menu bar is a set of buttons. These will vary from page-to-page as they provide specific functions for the current HQ page. In this illustration, the HQ Dashboard page is show. To create a similar view in your own HQ, go to the View menu, select Dashboard and then add ‘widgets’ to the page using the ‘Add Widgets’ control found at the top-right of the Page Buttons area.
